Back to basic physics today. I’m sure you remember that inertia ~ described by the first of Newton’s Laws of Motion ~ is a fundamental resistance to change. Things (and people) are likely to continue doing what they are doing unless acted on by an outside force. But did you know that there is another, more hidden force that can keep you from achieving your goals and dreams?
The force I’m referring to is friction. Friction is an outside force that steals momentum. If it weren’t for friction, things would stay in motion forever. You would have an endless supply of energy. You’d also fall constantly, but stay with me here…
Because of friction, pressure and rough energies around you can slow you down. Yes, even if you’re really vibrationally aware and centered and groovy. This has nothing to do with how wonderful you are. It’s science.
So today, consider where you experience friction in your lifestyle, your relationships, and your mental state. Reducing friction is the key to ease and grace on your ever-expanding journey.
When you feel friction, it can be a challenge to stay present. We relate to the present as if it were the past and to the future out of expectations based on what we have today. Yet, everything happens to support you or strengthen you and anything is possible. There’s no need to withdraw from life out of fear that the wrong thing will happen. If you stay present, you will always receive the blessing and benefit of the things that occur.
When you breathe, you are squarely in present time. Slow down and center yourself by breathing deeply and intentionally. Refrain from judging everything and everyone. Then, say YES. From this new stance you can “seize the day” as you engage with what life puts in front of you. And in this way, you will become fully alive.
It takes courage to prioritize your own well-being and future. But if you don’t, who will?
